I do this every year
Every year around this time, I have a Vision Board Party. I invite all of my friends, and tell them to invite their friends, to come and do their New Year’s Resolutions.
I open the doors on a weekend day, put out some bottles of wine, have some snacks laid out, and then I fill two large tables with old, used magazines.
I have a dozen scissors, some stick glue, cut-out cardboard, and some basic instructions:
Flip through the magazines, and cut out pictures, words or sayings, or anything that moves you, anything you want in your life. Glue them on your cardboard cut-out. Make a collage, give it whatever artistic flair you like.
That’s your Vision Board. Simple.
I love getting a lot of people together working on something magical like this. I’ve even heard “hey, if you see a picture of a baby (or a tropical island, a new stove, whatever), can you give it to me?”
In my circle, it’s what I’m known for, and we have such a great time every year. People take their Vision Boards home and put it somewhere where they can see it every day (mine is in the bathroom). It’s your personal space of all your longings and desires.
Here’s the best part about your Vision Board; those pictures and words manifest themselves into reality! For real, this has happened with most everyone I know. It’s magical. And we can all do with some magic right now.
Unfortunately, my party has been is on hold this year (and last year) because of COVID. However, I’m still going to do my Vision Board.
I encourage you to do the same! You can do it as a family project, or with your inner circle of friends. Or even by yourself. It’s a great way to start the New Year, and we can agree that a positive start this year is something we need.
